July 1, 2025 - November, 30, 2025

Project manager

Vadim Bardashevsky

Territory of implementation

Kherson region

Kherson region remains one of the most vulnerable regions of Ukraine. Regular shelling — more than 300 times a month — not only poses a danger to life, but also complicates access to basic food products

Funding for the project: in partnership with and with financial support from the Stand with Ukraine Fund.

Description: Kherson region remains one of the most vulnerable regions of Ukraine. Regular shelling — more than 300 times a month — not only poses a danger to life, but also complicates access to basic food products.

Many residents are unable to buy fresh bread every day due to loss of income, rising prices, and limited operation of shops and markets.

How it works: One of our partner bakeries in the city of Kherson continues to operate even under difficult conditions. With the support of the fund, it will be able to bake about 20,000 units of bakery products.

The funding will cover the purchase of flour, yeast, and other necessary ingredients, which will allow bread to be distributed free of charge to people in the most vulnerable communities.

The distribution will take place in 12 locations in the city — Dniprovskyi district (7 locations), Tavriiskyi (2), Center (1), Ostrov (1), Shumenskyi (1), and Zhitloselyshche (1).

Achieved Results:

A total of 7,000 loaves of bread were baked and distributed to approximately 2,000 unique direct beneficiaries and 3,000 indirect beneficiaries (family members). On a weekly basis, around 200 loaves were delivered to the city hospital for patients.

Bread distribution took place in the following areas of Kherson city: Korabelnyi, Dniprovskyi, Tavriiskyi, City Center, Chornobaivka, as well as the City Hospital.

Deliveries were carried out with careful consideration of security risks — in some cases, people received bread while sheltering in bomb shelters.

Inspiring Story

During one of the distributions in the Korabelnyi district, people received bread inside a bomb shelter due to the constant threat of drone attacks. One elderly woman, upon receiving a warm loaf, pressed it to her face and began to cry.

She said: “This smell reminds me of home, of peace, of the time when my children were young. I haven’t held freshly baked bread in my hands for a long time.”

For us, this became a powerful reminder that even a simple loaf of bread can restore a person’s sense of life and dignity.
