During the military conflict, children and their parents experienced the complicated realities of war, which forced them to seek help and psychological support

Project funding: The project is implemented in partnership and with financial assistance from the international organization World Vision.

Outline: During the military conflict, children and their parents experienced the complicated realities of war, which forced them to seek help and psychological support. The most vulnerable members of society are children. We strive to create conditions that will allow children to break away from the aspects of life associated with conflict, and help them feel joy and ease in their childhood. Therefore, we resumed the activities of our Day Centers, which functioned earlier. One of the key components of our initiative at the Day Centers is to promote the development of children’s psychological health via group classes and individual consultations to ensure psychosocial support.

During the project implementation:

8 children’s centers were restored in

  • Sumy (4 centers),
  • Chernivtsi (2 centers),
  • Poltava (1 center),
  • Kharkiv (1 center) oblasts.

Project Implementation:

The activities of 8 children’s centers in Sumy (4 centers), Chernivtsi (2 centers), Poltava (1 center) and Kharkiv (1 center) regions were resumed.

The target audience of the project: Children, mostly IDPs or victims of war, aged 6-15 years. Rarely children aged less than six years are in attendance. During the time a child is in the center, parents have the opportunity to adapt to the new location (if it is IDP) and find a job for the family.

Coverage: 852 children visited children’s centers.
